badger11’s take on anime

Code Geass - Givin’ up the ghost

I’m giving up on Code Geass. I tried. I really did. I liked the premise when I heard about it and I watched the first three episodes. But I really couldn’t get into it. I’ve gone back and watched all of the episodes to see if any of the later episodes would get me interested. Still no interest. From the start, I didn’t like the character design that much (I know, I know, its CLAMP. Oh well). I haven’t found any characters that I was really interested about. The only characters I was somewhat interested in were C.C. (they haven’t focused on her too much, perhaps in later episodes) and Karen/Kallen (oh Hell, let’s just call her K.K.) but even that interest was low.

Nope, not doing it for me. Maybe if she had the headband

Mmmm, pizza. Let’s see: pizza, CC, and a bed….nope, no joy.

Hmmmm, nah.

Neko Shirley with twin tails? Hmmmm, nope. Shucks.

Blue 32, blue 32, hut 1, hut 2, hiiiike!

Mechs with capes. Nope, not doing it either. Hey, what’s the
drag coefficient on that?

Big eyes, big head, small chin, no nose. I tell ya, Lulu is an alien in a skin suit

I know people like this one, but it just doesn’t do it for me. I think the premise is a good one, it has mechs (which seem a little on the laughable side to me, but I can let that slide), pizza (wonder if C.C. would be hooked on pizza if she could only get take-n-bake pizzas), even Orange-kun. The show’s latest plot twist with Shirley’s Dad and Zero/Lulu Bell has some good potential, but it isn’t enough. Everything adds up to a show that I normally would like, but I don’t, so I give up. I’m no longer supporting the revolution by buying from Pizza Hut (mainly because the only Pizza Hut outlet is on the other side of town in a Target and I’m way to lazy to drive over there). So who supports the Empire and delivers? Domino’s? Round Table (I hate those puppets on their commercials)? Papa John’s?

Kinda expected this to happen actually, no particularly you, though. Not everyone can take Code Geass, as some of my friends have already pointed out.

Good point. Code Geass is one of those shows that just isn’t for me. Oh well.
