Hataraki Man Ep 4
Woohoo! My thanks to the subbers for putting out this show! Hiroko and the gang are back. Even though this episode wasn’t primarily focused on Hiro, it was still a great one. The humor in the first half was just dead on. Very little time was spent dealing with the characters in the office, other than the slacker, Kunio and Mayu. The punishment game with Mayu was very enjoyable. That should be standard punishment for nosy co-workers.

This episode focuses more on Hiro’s boyfriend, Shinji, a construction site foreman. Becasue of a storm, he has to cancel the date with Hiro. Even though he’s the foreman, he spends most of his time apologizing to the workers and to Hiro. He also spends time wondering if he needs to change jobs. Its surprising that he seems whipped at work. Based on the little of what we’ve seen of him in the first three episodes, I figured that he was a high powered executive, but turns out he’s middle management. And a weak one at that.
One thing that I noticed (and its probably just me over analyzing the show) but their apartment seemed to be sparsely decorated. Well, they are too busy to actually spend time with one another, so its not hard to believe that they’re to busy to decorate. If it were me, well, there’d be other things that I’d spend the money (more anime for starters).

Thanks for correcting me. Like I said, I was probably over analyzing the scene. Congratulations on doing your postdoctoral work and doing it at Tokyo University. And last but not least, thank you for your work on this show.
