SHUFFLE! Memories
Its taken me awhile to figure what annoyed me about this show. It wasn’t the borderline disinterest in any of the characters at first. I’ve come to like them and Rin should choose Mayumi. It wasn’t until I marathoned all of the released episodes several times to realize that certain episodes just annoyed me while others were just fine.
What annoys me about this show are the fanclubs of Kaede, Sai, and Nerine. If they in the show for comic relief, it isn’t working. There is no humor when they show up and all they do is slow the show down. In episode 4, whatever group for whichever girl seems to routinely get their butts whupped by Nerine’s magic and Sai’s ability to pick-up them off with a recliner. And yet, they try again with Nerine and Sai in plain view. At what point in time did the makers of this show think that it would be funny to have them try again? The only reason why I don’t fast forward through those scenes is because I imagine the show creators as the idiots getting stomped on.
I haven’t seen the original Shuffle and I understand that Shuffle Memories is supposed to be an “alternate” version of the story, so I have idea if these fanclubs of Kaede, Sia, and Nerine add to the story. So far, I haven’t seen anything that would suggest otherwise. The show could have been better if they just left these fanclubs on the cutting room floor. I know they’re supposed to be there for comic relief but more often than not these things sound better in our heads than actually out there. If these fanclubs are going to stay in the show, how about a little variety and instead of attacking Rin, how about have one the idiots actually have a personality and actually talk tot he object of their affection? But then its pretty damn obvious that the girls have made it clear that they like Rin. No wonder Kaede, Nerine, and Sai would rather choose Rin over the drooling idiotic jackasses from these so-called fanclubs. Who’d want to go out with some jackass for a club that’s put you on a pedestal and doesn’t follow the obvious. *sigh*
Despite these fanclubs scenes, which are thankfully only a small portion, this is actually an enjoyable show. It doesn’t grab as some of the others, but I like it so far.

You are absolute right about those fanclubs, their are real nuisance without any use at all. Definitely a bad idea by the creators of Shuffle. By the way, Shuffle Memories is (so far) a pure recap series of the original Shuffle series. Everything that was shown until now happened in the same way in the original series, they just left out much of the (boring) filler material.
I had a hunch that this was all recaps. I almost wish they put in the boring fillers and take out the fanclubs.
