Akihabra@DEEP Ep 10
Episode 10 is the second to the last for Akihabara@DEEP and it starts off with the team in a panic as Nakagomi pays a visit to the @DEEP office. He offers them ¥1,000,000 for Yui’s AI. Page and the gang refuse. Despite Nakagomi’s check he also offers them presents, high-end computer parts for Izumu, a guitar for Taiko, figurines for Box, and Rei’s suit from Neon Genesis Evangelion for Daruma. They still refuse. Izumu comes up with the suggestion that Nakagomi should ask Yui’s AI to decide whether to go or to stay since it basically achieved consciousness on it’s own. When he does, Yui flatly refuses, stating that he hasn’t changed at all.
Leaving Daruma to man the office, the rest of team leaves. After they have left, a van pulls up with masked men who break into the office. The bad guys are surprised by Daruma. He tries to fight them, but is out numbered and doesn’t have the skills to fight them. One of them takes the computer running Yui’s AI while the rest of them destroy the office. In the process of fighting them, Daruma discovers that the leader is Nakagomi’s assistant, Shimoyamagi. The team gets a call from Azita, the black market dealer who had passed by the office and saw the burglers leave. They realize that Yui and Daruma are gone. They find Daruma unconscious, buried under boxes.
Later, at the hospital, the @DEEP team starts to fall apart when they find out that the police regard it is a regular assault and burgerly without any evidence. Even though the team knows that Nakagomi is behind the theft and Daruma’s assault, they can’t prove it. With Daruma in a coma, and no evidence to prove that Nakagomi was behind everything, to everyone’s surprise and anger, Page decides to shut down Akihabra@DEEP. He knows that they can’t take Nakagomi on and he can’t protect them from winding up like Daruma.
Over at Nakagomi’s Digital Capitol offices, Izumu’s hacker friend, Tousaka is curious as to how Nakagomi got his hands on Yui’s AI. Nakagomi tells to use her Ai as research for their new search engine. Tousaka meets Izumu in an Akihabara electronics’ shop where he confirms her suspicions that Yui’s AI was taken by Nakagomi. He goes on tell her that he had a small company, but lost it to Nakagomi’s pressure tactics. With Azita’s help, Akira breaks into Digital Capital that night, looking to get Yui back.
